HOW TO FOLD
How to Fold a Folding Bike
In this guide, we explain how to fold a folding bike. For a detailed step-by-step explanation, please refer to the manual of the specific model you have purchased or plan to buy.
Most folding bikes use two hinges:
- The first hinge is located on the frame, usually halfway up the main bar above the pedals. By unlocking this hinge, you can fold the bike in half, bringing both wheels side by side.
- The second hinge is in the steering column. Unlocking this hinge allows you to fold the handlebars down, making the bike more compact.
Different Folding Mechanisms
While this is the most common folding method, some models have a hinge at the rear wheel, while others only allow the saddle and handlebars to fold inward. This latter method is less efficient, as the bike remains relatively bulky when folded.
Modern folding bikes are designed to be as user-friendly as possible, ensuring that the folding mechanism is intuitive and quick to use.
Important Reminder
Always read the manual of your specific folding bike carefully to ensure proper folding and avoid any potential damage.
